While Kankuro chases them through the village, he discovers that the guards who were at the entrance of the village were already killed. As he catches upon Deidara and Gaara, he uses his puppet techniques – the crow, black ant and Salamander to slow down Deidara. Sasori, who was along with Deidara, asks Deidara to continue his journey with Gaara. This was a perfect chance for Sasori to show his skills.
