Luffy recalls when he was seven years old, he sat in bar that is crowded with the Red-Haired Shanks pirate crews. He begged the pirates to bring him on board their pirate ship. The captain pirate refuse to do Luffy’s request. After that, a bandit by the name of Higuma came and purchase several barrels of booze. When Shanks hand the last bottle to Higuma, he smashes it so that it brought shame on Shanks. When Higuma left the bar, everyone laugh off about it. Luffy was furious that the pirates did not revenge. In a fit of resentment, he ate a purple fruit that lies on the floor in the bar.
